Finding done or canceled jobs

In this article, you'll learn how to find jobs you've already closed or canceled. Closing a job doesn't make it disappear, so you can go back to it when a customer calls about past work, asks for a receipt or wants the same job booked again.

To open your jobs:

  1. In the menu, click Jobs.

Finding them on the Jobs list

The tabs across the top of the Jobs list are your company's own job statuses, in the same order as in Settings. Every status gets a tab, Done and Canceled included, and each tab shows how many jobs are in it.

  1. On the Jobs list, click the Done tab, or the Canceled tab.
  2. Find the job you want. On a computer you can click any column heading, like Date/time or Client, to sort the list by it. Click it again to flip the order.
  3. Click the job number to open the job.
Opening the Done tab on the Jobs list

The list shows 50 jobs a page by default. Use Prev and Next at the bottom to move between pages, or change how many rows show per page.

Tip: Clicking the customer's name in a row opens their page instead of the job.

Finding them on the phone app

The app's Jobs screen has the same status tabs, with the same counts.

  1. Open Jobs.
  2. Tap the Done or Canceled tab.
  3. To narrow it down, type in the Filter results box. It matches the job number, the customer's name or their email.
  4. Tap a job to open it.

Finding them on a customer's page

A customer's page lists every job they've ever had, whatever its status.

  1. Open the customer's page.
  2. On a computer, the Jobs tab is open when the page loads. Its Status column shows where each job stands.
  3. To find one quickly, type in the Search box above the list. It searches every column, so typing "Done" or "Canceled" narrows the list to those jobs.
  4. Click the job number to open it.

On the phone app, tap the Jobs row on the customer's page. Each job shows its number, total, address, date and status. Tap one to open it.

You can also find any job, closed or not, with search. See Searching for jobs, leads and clients.

What you can do with a done job

A done job opens locked. You'll see a yellow note at the top: "This job is done — change the status to reopen it before editing." You can still change its status and take payments, but the details, items and other fields can't be edited.

To make changes, change the status to something other than Done, make your edits, then set it back to Done.

Note: Canceled jobs aren't locked the same way. Only a job in Done opens read-only.
