Listing the services and cities your site gets pages for

In this article, you'll learn how to fill in the Services & cities step of onboarding. Your website gets a page for every service and every city you list here, so it's worth a few minutes to get the list right.

You'll only see this step if your plan includes a website: Website, Reviews + Website, or SEO. It's part of onboarding on the web. The phone app doesn't have it.

To get to the Services & cities step:

  1. Start or continue your onboarding.
  2. Work through the steps in the Website section: Leads & bookings, then Chat.
  3. Click Continue on the Chat step. The next screen is Services & cities, headed "What you do, and where."

Listing your top services

Under Top services, each line holds one service. You start with three empty lines labelled Service 1, Service 2 and Service 3.

  1. Click the first line and type a service, like "Junk removal" or "Move-out cleaning".
  2. Fill in the next lines with your other main services.
  3. Need more room? Click + Add another under the list to add a line.

Each service you enter gets its own page on your site.

Listing the cities you serve

Cities you serve works the same way. You start with three lines labelled City 1, City 2 and City 3.

  1. Type one city per line.
  2. Click + Add another for more lines.

Each city gets its own page too.

Tip: You can list up to ten of each. Start with the services and cities that bring you the most work. Once a list has ten lines, the + Add another button goes away.

Removing a line

  1. Click the × at the end of the line you don't want.

If that's the only line left in the list, the × clears what you typed but leaves the empty line in place.

Saving and moving on

  1. Check both lists.
  2. Click Continue.

Continue stays greyed out until there's at least one service and at least one city. When you click it, we tidy up your lists:

  • Spaces at the start and end of each line are trimmed.
  • Empty lines are dropped.
  • Exact duplicates are dropped, so a service or city you typed twice only gets one page.

To go back a step without saving this one, click Back.

Note: Duplicates are only caught when they match letter for letter. "Boise" and "boise" count as two different cities, so check your spelling before you continue.
Tip: Stuck on how many to list or which cities count? Open the Setup guide chat at the bottom right of the screen and ask. It answers questions about the step you're on.
