Telling your website where to send leads and bookings

In this article, you'll learn how to fill in the Leads & bookings step of your onboarding. It's where you tell your new website who to text and email when someone reaches out, and whether its book-online button should go to a booking link you already have. Get it right here and you won't miss a lead the day the site goes live.

You'll only see this step if your plan includes a website (Website, Reviews + Website or SEO).

To get to the step:

  1. Open your onboarding and work through Your business, CRM and Phone (plus the review steps, if your plan has them).
  2. The next screen, under Website, asks Where should the site send people? That's this step.

Choose who gets texted and emailed

The panel starts with two boxes:

  • Text to this mobile is the cell phone that gets a text when a lead comes in.
  • …and go to this email is the inbox that gets the lead by email.

Both start out filled in with the Mobile and Email you gave on the Your business screen, so most people can leave them alone.

  1. To send leads somewhere else, click into either box and type the new mobile number or email.
  2. The box's border turns gold once it's different from your business contact. That's just a reminder that you changed it.
Tip: When you click out of the mobile box, the number tidies itself into (208) 555-0123 style. You don't need to type the dashes.

If the software you use today has an online booking page or calendar link, paste it into Booking or calendar link, if your current software has one.

  1. Copy the link from your booking or calendar tool.
  2. Paste it into the box. It turns gold once a valid link is in it.

That link becomes the book-online button on your website. Leave the box blank and the site sends people to call or text you instead.

Continue to the next step

  1. Click Continue. Your answers are saved and you move on to the Chat step.
  2. Need to change an earlier answer first? Click Back.

Continue stays grayed out until everything checks out:

  • The mobile has to be a full 10-digit US number (an 11-digit number starting with 1 works too).
  • The email has to look like a real address, with an @ and a domain.
  • The booking link, if you add one, has to be a full web address starting with http:// or https://.

A box turns red when what's in it doesn't pass. Fix it and Continue lights up again.

What happens when you finish onboarding

Nothing on this step changes your live settings until you finish onboarding. When you do, the mobile and email from this step go to the top of your notification list, the one list your new leads, bookings, chat, voicemail and document alerts are sent to. They take the first spot on that list, and anyone else already on it stays. Your booking link is saved as the link the site's book-online button uses.

Note: To add more people or change who gets alerts later, go to Settings > Notifications in your dashboard.
